Mural In A Day

TOPPENISH MURAL IN A DAY
The Toppenish Mural Society announces the return of the popular event, Mural in a Day, but with a twist! A group of artists will gather on Saturday, June 6th, at the site of the first mural, “Clearing the Land”, painted in 1989. They will refurbish this mural located on the corner of Washington and Toppenish Ave. from 9am to 4pm. Clearing the Land has been exposed to the weather for 37 years and is in dire need of repair. The wall will already be sanded and prepped for the event. Bleachers will be set up for the public to observe the artists in action as they bring the mural back to life. Come first meet the artists at Old Timer’s Plaza and enjoy a $10 breakfast provided by the Toppenish Lions Club from 7am to 10am. Then mosey across the street to observe the artists repaint the mural.
Food Drive for Veterans
Help stock the shelves at Yakima Valley Veterans Coalition Food Pantry. This time of year can be busy for everyone but the need for Food to benefit our Local Veterans never stops. Let’s show our gratitude to Veterans by giving back to those who have served our Nation! Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Pacific Steel and Recycling… located at 409 Butterfield Road in Terrace Heights, now through May 22nd.
