AUTUMN BOUNTY — “EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!”
Hey, Yakima! Looking for a fun way to spend a beautiful late-summer afternoon—and support a great local organization while you’re at it?
Here’s your chance to experience a garden party right on the beautiful grounds of the Yakima Area Arboretum!
Join us for Autumn Bounty: Everything’s Coming Up Roses!, happening Sunday, September thirteenth, from three to seven p.m.
Enjoy an afternoon and evening surrounded by the beauty of the Arboretum, with live music from KCJ Jazz Co., delicious barbecue from Vandervate BBQ, wine from Hyatt Vineyards, plus exciting live and silent auctions.
Tickets are just eighty-five dollars per person, and this is a twenty-one-and-over event. Best of all, your evening out helps support the Arboretum’s beautiful gardens, educational programs, and the work they do for our entire community.

Veterans Stand Down
The Yakima Valley Veterans Coalition will host the 27th Annual Veterans Stand
Down & Benefits Fair on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Yakima Valley SunDome, State Fair
Park, 1301 South Fair Avenue in Yakima. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is free
for all Veterans and their immediate families.
The Stand Down will feature more than 100 services and resources designed to support Veterans
in Yakima County and beyond. Federal, state, and community agencies will be on hand to provide
employment assistance, VA healthcare enrollment, medical services, post-traumatic stress
counseling, disability claims processing, housing assistance and so much more. Additional
support includes refreshments, hot lunch, food boxes, free haircuts, and clothing for Veterans and
their families.
Organizers emphasize that this event is not only about connecting Veterans to benefits and
services, but also about honoring their service and creating a welcoming space for camaraderie.
Yakima County is home to nearly 10,000 Veterans, and this event is dedicated to serving them all.
