Rap legend Dr. Dre has a hefty lawsuit thrown at him. Dr. Charles Sophy filed a lawsuit against Dr. Dre in a Los Angeles County Superior Court. The divorce psychotherapist alleges that Dre subjected him to “systematic and malicious” forms of “unbearable harassment” following his work mediating the dissolution of the hip-hop legend’s decades-long marriage to his now ex-wife, Nicole Young. The lawsuit alleges that “Young decided to take his frustrations about the mediation out on Dr. Sophy” in a “nearly year-long sustained campaign of late-night texts, threats of intimidation and violence, and homophobic rhetoric.” Dre’s threats became so severe that Sophy feared for his life and took to wearing a bulletproof vest for protection. Sophy is seeking a court order prohibiting contact and compensatory damages of at least $10 million.
