An icon of cinema has passed away today. History-making actor Sidney Poitier is dead at the age of 94. For his role in the 1963 James Poe film Lilies of the Field, Sidney Poitier won the Academy Award for Best Actor, making history as the first Black actor to win in the category. He was also a director of many films and an important ambassador for civil rights. R.I.P. to a legend and we send our thoughts to his friends and family.
