In a big surprise, the one and only JAY-Z did an interview with GQ Magazine where he opened up and gave his thoughts on a variety of major hip-hop topics. Firstly, HOV gave his thoughts on the infamous Drake & Kendrick Lamar interview, saying it was a bad look for hip-hop because it went too far with kids and families being brought into it and social media as well. HOV also said he didn’t mean to slight Drake with his pick for Kendrick for the Super Bowl. Later on in the interview, Jay also said the narrative he and J. Cole didn’t get along was totally not true. Finally, he said he’s working on new music but needs to be inspired to put it together and release it.
