Carrey’s publicist denied rumors that a body double took his place on a red carpet confirming, “Jim Carrey attended the César Awards, where he accepted his Honorary César Award.” Gregory Caulier, the award show’s general delegate, called the clone speculation a “non-issue” and detailed months of preparation for honoring Carrey at the event. Makeup artist Alexis Stone also added fuel to the gossip after insinuating they used a latex mask to disguise themselves as Carrey at the show.
