Clarkson decided to step away as her contract concludes, following a difficult year marked by a leave of absence to be with her children during their father’s cancer treatment and his death last August. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids,” Clarkson shares in a statement, calling the choice “necessary and right” for her family’s next chapter. The show will continue through next fall.
