The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the first musical performer for the 2023 Oscars: Rihanna, who will do her Black Panther: Wakanda Forever song “Lift Me Up.” The Academy Awards take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023, and will be broadcast live on ABC. “Lift Me Up” was nominated for the 2023 Academy Award for Best Original Song, alongside Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand,” David Byrne and Mitski’s “This Is a Life,” and more.
