One of Kendrick’s old record label reps TDE Punch has revealed the origin of the Drake & the Kendrick Lamar Beef. In a recent podcast appearance, Punch went into detail that it was Kendrick’s controversial “Control” verse that started the friction between the two rappers. Punch said that when Kendrick said he wanted to kill all of his fellow big time rappers in the genre, Drake was one of the few that took it personal and the tension started there.
