TV’s biggest night was held in LA last night for the Primetime Emmy Awards and there were three major winners. The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach won lead and supporting actor in a comedy, while Hacks star Jean Smart won lead actress in a comedy. Hacks itself then shocked the crowd by winning outstanding comedy over The Bear. Nonetheless, The Bear broke its own previous record of 10 comedy wins for a single season by picking up 11 last night. FX’s hit Shogun also had a big night, taking home outstanding drama, lead actor for Hiroyuki Sanada, actress for Anna Sawai and directing.
